“Its Not That Easy” by Nick Cope

Nick’s been based in New York for 3 years now, but before that ran the Hot, Funky & Sweaty soul nights in London: a regular spot for Europe’s contemporary funky soul bands and DJs. Nick ended the HF&S tenure by releasing an album of funky covers (including the cover of “What Condition My Condition Is In” by our very own Sharon Jones & The Dapkings) on Acid Jazz Records, along with a 45 release.
Currently, he’s part of the weekly Weird Gear after work get together at APT every Friday and is sniffing around Brooklyn for a suitable home to base a monthly soul spin. In the meantime, here’s a little mix of ballads and soul downers…
