“Its Not That Easy” by Nick Cope
Aug 18th, 2009 by daptonerecords
Nick’s been based in New York for 3 years now, but before that ran the Hot, Funky & Sweaty soul nights in London: a regular spot for Europe’s contemporary funky soul bands and DJs. Nick ended the HF&S tenure by releasing an album of funky covers (including the cover of “What Condition My Condition Is In” by our very own Sharon Jones & The Dapkings) on Acid Jazz Records, along with a 45 release.
Currently, he’s part of the weekly Weird Gear after work get together at APT every Friday and is sniffing around Brooklyn for a suitable home to base a monthly soul spin. In the meantime, here’s a little mix of ballads and soul downers…

Another gem of a mix! Miss Goldie’s mix blew me away and this one stands shoulder to shoulder. Thank you Nick for this soulful piece of bliss
Daptone Jukebox is, by far, the finest podcast in existence… the only one I listen to. Never disappointed!
Supergreat selection. A peek at an alternate soul universe.
